The Balmoral Group was awarded the contract for management services for the Gulf Consortium. To maximize the environmental and economic recovery from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, Florida’s 23 Gulf Coast Counties - Escambia County in the western panhandle to Monroe County on the southern tip of Florida and the United States - formed the Gulf Consortium. The public entity works with Florida's Governor, state agencies, other restoration partners, and U.S. Treasury, to ensure that requirements of the RESTORE Act for Florida are met and to oversee the State Expenditure Plan. The RESTORE Act establishes funding from a portion of the administrative and civil penalties from the oil spill known as “Pot 3” funds.
